Job summary

Grant Thornton is seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting to establish and maintain global revenue accounting policies aligned with ASC606 and CECL. The role will bridge local GAAP/IFRS to US GAAP across jurisdictions and partner with billing functions to enable proper revenue recognition.

The individual will lead the monthly close, provide guidance to internal teams, and drive process improvements in finance transformation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in revenue accounting or financial reporting at a CPA firm or public company.
• Strong U.S. GAAP and IFRS knowledge, ASC606 revenue recognition.
• Experience with SAP FICO and professional services modules a plus.
• Experience with accounting for professional services organizations a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership abilities across the organization.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with contract review and memo experience.
• Hands-on mindset with willingness to dive into operational and transactional details.
• CPA or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain revenue accounting policies in line with ASC606 and CECL.
• Bridge local GAAP/IFRS to U.S. GAAP for revenue recognition across jurisdictions.
• Partner with billing functions across jurisdictions and systems.
• Provide revenue accounting guidance to internal business leaders.
• Prepare month-end schedules, management reporting packages, and analyses.
• Drive improvements in collections and cash flows through cross-functional partnering.
• Build scalable processes, controls, and systems for a growing revenue model.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue-related close processes and journal entries.
• Ensure GL integrity and GAAP compliance across revenue accounts.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and narratives for revenue positions.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits and reviews.
• Develop and maintain internal controls over revenue with testing readiness.
• Identify opportunities for automation and system improvements in billing/ar/AP revenue.
• Coordinate alignment between time entry, billing, and accounting systems.
