Job summary

Grant Thornton is seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting to establish and maintain global revenue policies, ensuring ASC606 and CECL compliance across the multinational platform. You will lead cross-border initiatives, partner with billing and accounting teams to bridge local GAAP/IFRS to U.S.

GAAP, and drive monthly, quarterly and annual close with strong GAAP integrity. This senior role requires leadership, clear communication, and a CPA or equivalent certification to guide technical memos

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS, specifically revenue accounting for time and material as well as fixed fee arrangements for a professional services firm following ASC606.
• Experience reviewing contracts and preparing technical accounting memos.
• Experience with professional services organizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain revenue accounting policies in compliance with ASC606 and CECL.
• Bridge local GAAP/IFRS to U.S. GAAP relating to revenue recognition.
• Partner with billing across jurisdictions to enable revenue accounting.
• Provide revenue accounting guidance to internal leaders.
• Prepare month-end schedules and management reports.
• Drive improvements in collections and cash flows through cross-functional collaboration.
• Build scalable processes, controls, and systems for a growing revenue model.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and journals.
• Ensure GAAP compliance across revenue-related accounts.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and documentation for revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits and reviews.
• Develop and maintain internal controls over revenue.
