Job summary

BILL is seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting to own the end-to-end revenue close within the Controllership and Treasury organization. You will oversee ASC 606, cost of revenue, and receivables, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Billing to scale automation.

You’ll help design next-generation accounting systems, ensure SOX controls, and coordinate with external auditors as the primary contact. CPA and 10+ years of experience required.

Qualifications

• Active CPA certification with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 3+ years leading operational revenue accounting at a public company
• Experience owning monthly/quarterly/yearly close processes for revenue
• Experience translating policy memos into journal entries and ERP configs

Responsibilities

• Manage daily revenue accounting operations across BILL product lines
• Own end-to-end monthly, quarterly, annual revenue close, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Lead accounts receivable accounting operations and aging analyses
• Support design and rollout of next-gen core accounting systems for revenue
• Drive automation to scale high-volume transaction processing
• Translate ASC 606/310/326 guidance into workflows and ERP configurations
• Collaborate with Finance Ops, Billing, Product, and Engineering for new product launches
• Lead external auditor coordination and maintain audit-ready documentation
• Hire and mentor a team of accountants and contractors
