Job summary

Munich Re Group is seeking a strategic Head of GSI Property Underwriting to drive portfolio-level risk views and uphold underwriting quality across global primary insurance. You will lead the Global Specialty Insurance Property strategy, guide BU underwriting, and coordinate responses to industry trends and regulatory changes.

You will influence global underwriting standards, manage complex referrals, and champion training and cross-platform initiatives to improve profitability and risk controls

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of insurance underwriting practices and data-driven decision making.
• Minimum of 10 years of Property underwriting of primary business.
• Experience underwriting MGA/Program business.
• Experience in US admitted and E&S markets, personal and commercial lines.
• BS/BA; advanced degree a plus.
• CPCU / ARe designations preferred.
• Ability to provide clear underwriting intent for new products.
• Ability to explain complex insurance concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set the overall GSI Property Underwriting strategy and risk management approaches.
• Oversee GSI underwriting strategies and guidelines.
• Coordinate responses to industry trends impacting portfolio results.
• Implement Global Property UW strategies and guidelines.
• Lead referrals and support BU underwriting decisions.
• Lead Property Underwriting Roundtable and training initiatives.
• Ensure measurable standards for UW excellence and risk controls.
