Job summary

Munich Re America Services seeks a strategic Head of GSI Property Underwriting to lead the global property portfolio across US and select international markets within the Global Specialty Insurance group.

This leader will drive underwriting strategy, governance, and training, ensuring consistent risk assessment, policy language alignment, and BU collaboration to support long-term profitability and strong risk controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of Property Underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting MGA/Program business.
• Experience in US admitted and E&S markets, personal and commercial lines.
• Ability to explain complex insurance concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set the overall GSI Property Underwriting strategy, guidelines and risk management approaches.
• Oversee GSI underwriting strategies and guidelines through the GSI Underwriting teams.
• Coordinate responses to industry trends and regulatory events affecting the portfolio.
• Implement Global Property UW strategies and guidelines across regions.
• Provide expert handling of referrals and support for BU underwriting decisions.
• Lead Property Underwriting Roundtable and coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
