Job summary

Munich Re America Services is seeking the Head of GSI Property Underwriting to shape portfolio strategies across Global Specialty Insurance. You will guide risk selection, set guidelines, and drive consistency among regional underwriting teams to enhance long-term profitability of the Property portfolio.

The role requires deep property underwriting expertise, US market experience, and leadership in a complex, regulated environment with travel up to 35–45%.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of Property Underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting MGA/Program business.
• Experience in US admitted and E&S markets (personal and commercial lines).
• BS/BA degree; advanced degree a plus.
• CPCU or ARe designations preferred.
• Ability to provide clear underwriting intent and explain complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Set the overall GSI Property Underwriting strategy, guidelines and risk management approaches.
• Oversee GSI underwriting strategies and guidelines through the GSI Underwriting teams.
• Respond to industry trends and coordinate consistent underwriting responses across BUs.
• Implement Global Property UW strategies and Global UW guidelines.
• Lead referrals and audits, providing cross-divisional underwriting support.
