Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Global Property Accounting Controller to lead accounting operations for complex CRE portfolios. The role oversees large teams, closes, and reporting packages while ensuring top controls and client service.

You will partner with senior stakeholders, drive process improvements, and lead accounting initiatives across multiple properties and client accounts, delivering accurate financial reporting and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive CRE or property accounting experience with leadership.
• Experience with ERP and real estate platforms (Yardi, MRI, PeopleSoft, SAP).
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage month-end close and portfolio reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and build client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple property accounting teams delivering timely financial reporting for large CRE portfolios.
• Oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end close with controls and client requirements.
• Review financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting packages for accuracy.
• Serve as trusted advisor to senior clients and CBRE leadership for strategic guidance.
• Establish internal controls, governance, and scalable accounting processes.
• Manage cash, debt, owner distributions, taxes, and client reporting.
• Lead onboarding, portfolio transitions, acquisitions, and dispositions.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
• Mentor accounting managers and support audits and strategic initiatives.
