Siemens Energy in Chicago seeks a Project Development Manager to lead the sales development for large modernization and capital equipment projects. You will identify opportunities, build relationships with key decision-makers, and manage the sales process from opportunity development through project handoff.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in rotating equipment, industrial equipment sales, business development, or capital projects.
• Strong experience with industrial steam turbines, including performance, applications, and customer requirements.
• Proven ability to identify and develop business opportunities while managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
• Collaborative, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with the ability to work effectively across global teams and cultures.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% domestically and internationally.
• Experience with Siemens Energy industrial steam turbine products is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of strategies to identify, qualify, and win large industrial steam turbine modernization and upgrade projects.
• Develop compelling value propositions and business cases that address customer needs while supporting company growth and profitability objectives.
• Manage the sales pipeline, including opportunity forecasting, reporting, and maintaining forecast accuracy.
• Build and strengthen customer relationships through regular engagement, while gathering and sharing market, customer, and competitive insights.
• Collaborate with commercial, engineering, and project execution teams to ensure a seamless transition from project award through kickoff and delivery.
• Achieve assigned sales, bookings, and revenue targets while serving as a trusted advisor to customers and managing business activities in accordance with company policies.
