Job summary

Celanese in the United States seeks a Senior Manager, Global Process Controls & Automation to lead strategic control solutions across its manufacturing network. You will advance automation capabilities, set technical standards, and drive efficiency, safety, and reliability across sites.

You will own the global roadmap, oversee DCS/PLC upgrades, and steer the Alarm Management program while guiding a global team of BPCS and process control experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering.
• 15+ years in chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of DCS and industrial automation tech and evaluating new solutions.
• Experience implementing process control systems: development, testing, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting.
• Understanding of drivers for automation and alarm management programs.
• Financial acumen and experience supporting tech investments and deployment decisions.
• Ability to lead technical teams and communicate complex concepts to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop, own, and drive the global Process Control Roadmap.
• Plan and coordinate DCS, PLC, and control system upgrades across Celanese sites.
• Advance digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives, including alarm management.
• Provide strategic direction for control system modernization and upgrades.
• Lead a global team of BPCS and Process Control experts.
• Support brownfield upgrades and capital projects related to process control.
• Maintain relationships with key control system suppliers.
• Evaluate and recommend upgrade solutions across major DCS/PLC platforms.
• Expand deployment of the Alarm Management program.
• Prioritize and support process control-related capital investments.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align strategy.
• Offer expert troubleshooting and technical leadership for critical challenges.
