Job summary
Celanese seeks a Senior Manager, Global Process Controls & Automation to provide strategic leadership for process control across Celanese’s manufacturing network in the USA, advancing automation capabilities and establishing standards.
You will drive DCS/PLC upgrades, oversee a global team, and partner with site leaders to align automation initiatives with safety, reliability, and business goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
- 15+ years in chemical/petrochemical/process industries.
- Strong knowledge of DCS and automation technologies.
- Experience implementing process control systems from development to startup.
- Understanding of automation and alarm management drivers.
- Demonstrated financial acumen with technology investments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, own, and drive the global Process Control Roadmap.
- Support planning and coordination of DCS, PLC upgrades across Celanese sites.
- Guide digital manufacturing initiatives and Industry 4.0 elements linked to DCS and alarm management.
- Provide strategic direction for control system modernization projects.
- Lead a global team of BPCS and Process Control experts.
- Support brownfield upgrade projects.
- Build relationships with process control suppliers.
- Evaluate and recommend upgrade solutions across platforms.
- Advance Alarm Management programs.
- Prioritize process control-related capital investments.
- Partner with senior leaders to align strategy and execution.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical leadership for critical challenges.
