Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a Director of Global Private Markets in the United States to align strategy with client growth across private equity, private credit, infrastructure and related vehicles. You will drive cross‑practice collaboration, lead initiatives with senior stakeholders, and translate market opportunities into tangible client engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Law or similar field.
• Master's Degree in MBA, JD, Finance, Business, Economics, Marketing or related fields.
• 10+ years’ progressively responsible experience in business development, client development, marketing, strategy, or related professional services leadership roles, including substantial experience within a global law firm, financial services organization, investment management firm, consulting firm, or other professional services environment serving private capital clients.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Support the execution of the Global Private Markets strategy and annual business plan.
• Cross-Firm Coordination: Act as the primary coordinator among practice groups, industry sectors, and regional offices.
• Client Development: Partner with lawyers to identify cross-selling and relationship expansion opportunities across the private markets ecosystem.
• Market Intelligence and Commercial Insights: Build and maintain intelligence on market developments, competitor activity, capital flows, and investment trends.
• Profile Raising and Thought Leadership: Coordinate the firm's private markets thought leadership strategy.
• Internal Engagement: Develop messaging and business development tools that help lawyers understand and articulate the firm's private markets value proposition.
