DLA Piper seeks a Director for Global Private Markets to drive strategy and coordinate efforts across practices, sectors, and geographies. You will identify market opportunities, connect lawyers, and translate the private markets strategy into client engagement and growth.

The role requires strategic thinking, leadership, and a track record in business development within a global law firm or financial services setting. The position is based in Austin with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in business development or strategy leadership within global professional services.
• Strong understanding of global private markets, including private equity, private credit, infrastructure and funds.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
• Experience in client development and strategic growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of the Global Private Markets strategy and annual business plan.
• Identify opportunities across private markets and client needs.
• Develop and manage strategic growth initiatives aligned with firm leadership objectives.
• Coordinate cross-firm collaboration among practice groups, sectors, and regions.
• Lead client targeting and pursue teams for significant opportunities and strategic pitches.
• Produce executive-level reporting and strategic recommendations to initiative leadership.
• Coordinate the thought leadership program and external engagement for leaders.
