Job summary

Elevate Legal Talent seeks an experienced Privacy Lawyer/Privacy Lead to join a leading global technology and information services organisation on an interim contract through the end of December. You will lead the privacy programme, operationalise privacy processes, and drive data governance and compliance across an international organisation.

The role requires 8+ years PQE, strong OneTrust experience, and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical operational controls

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with approximately 8+ years' PQE.
• Experience leading or managing a privacy operations team.
• Experience in privacy operations, data protection, cybersecurity or compliance.
• Advanced/expert OneTrust experience (3–5+ years configuring/managing).
• Strong data mapping and inventory management skills.
• Knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and other privacy regulations.
• Experience translating regulatory requirements into practical processes and controls.
• Ability to collaborate with Legal, IT, InfoSec, Product and Business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operationalise the organisation's global privacy programme.
• Configure, manage and optimise OneTrust privacy management processes and workflows.
• Build and maintain data inventories and data mapping initiatives.
• Manage privacy assessments including PIAs, DPAs and TIAs.
• Coordinate DSARs and other privacy-related operational processes.
• Maintain ROPA and wider privacy documentation.
• Identify privacy risks and implement mitigation measures with stakeholders.
• Support privacy incident response, audits and regulatory enquiries.
• Partner with Legal, IT, Information Security, Product and Business teams to embed privacy-by-design.
• Support vendor/privacy assessments and contractual privacy requirements.
• Develop and maintain privacy procedures, playbooks, reporting and programme metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve privacy processes using technology and AI-enabled tools.
• Experience with regulated/data-driven organisations and privacy certifications.
