Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Privacy to own the company’s global privacy program and serve as the principal legal advisor on domestic and international privacy and data protection matters.

You will partner with Security, GRC, and product teams to scale a robust privacy program, manage DPIAs, data mappings, and data transfer mechanisms, and guide privacy terms in contracts and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience advising on domestic and international privacy and data protection matters.
• Experience across GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, and cross-border data transfers.
• Experience advising business and technical teams on privacy issues across the product lifecycle.
• Experience supporting security matters, including customer-facing security commitments and incident response.
• Strong judgment, business orientation, and ability to translate complex legal issues into pragmatic advice.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with executives and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the global privacy program and advise on domestic and international privacy laws and data protection matters.
• Lead data subject rights processing and privacy diligence for vendors and subprocessors.
• Translate regulatory developments into concrete product, contracts, and process changes.
• Build and mature privacy program components: notices, consent management, DPIAs, and data inventories.
• Embed with product and engineering teams to provide privacy-by-design guidance.
• Negotiate DPAs and privacy terms in customer and vendor agreements and manage outside counsel.
