Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Global Project Development Lead to drive the growth of the project development service line within the Power Generation practice. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and shepherd projects from pre-positioning through delivery for both thermal and renewable generation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; PE license preferred or able to obtain.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience on power generation projects.
• At least 5 years of project management experience.
• Professional Engineer license (PE) or equivalent (PE or P.Eng).
• Experience with EPC project delivery including procurement and contract negotiations.
• Experience in both consulting/engineering/EPC and Owner environments.
• Strong business development, strategic planning, and client relationship skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain capability to provide project development services to clients in conjunction with Power Generation and Renewables Practice and Power Generation Business Class.
• Assist clients with identification and selection of project delivery methods to meet project objectives.
• Assist clients with technical procurement, and commercial contracting of long lead equipment and/or services while minimizing client’s risk exposure.
• Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships at all levels.
• Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
• Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation and review of contract terms.
• Provide regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client.
• Provide training and mentoring project team staff on project development services.
• Lead key strategic projects regarding development activities of complex nature.
