Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Sr Director of Population Genomics to set and drive the global strategy for national genomics programs. You will lead a cross-functional team spanning program management, product management, and product marketing to win large-scale LNGI initiatives.

The role requires 15+ years in genomics leadership, strong executive presence, and the ability to engage with health ministries and C-suite partners. Travel 30-50% and based in the US preferred.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of executive-level experience in genomics or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of sequencing technologies, population genomics, and lab operations.
• Ability to engage health executives and C-suite partners; willingness to travel 30–50%.
• Advanced degree required; PhD preferred; MBA a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the global vision and strategy for population genomics.
• Lead and empower a multidisciplinary team across program management, product management, and marketing.
• Build strategic government and health-system partnerships and secure multi-year LNGI contracts.
• Oversee program delivery, measure ROI, and uphold ethical and health-equity goals.
