Job summary

Tulu, Inc. in New York is seeking a People & Business Operations Manager to serve as the operational backbone of a multi-entity, globally distributed team.

You will ensure payroll, benefits, offices, and travel run smoothly, while managing HR systems, records, and onboarding to offboarding with care. You will report to the COO/CFO, collaborate with the CEO and department heads, and coordinate with external advisors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in business operations, people operations/HR, office management, executive support, finance, or a similar generalist role
• Experience across the employee lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, HR administration, payroll & benefits, offboarding
• Willingness to learn the legal, finance, and investor side of the business: cap tables, shareholder agreements, board resolutions, employment agreements
• Fluency with AI tools and an instinct for using them to take manual work out of a process
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail, with many recurring deadlines running at once
• Strong written and verbal communication, including materials prepared for leadership and the board
• Sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information
• Resourceful and hands-on, comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities

Responsibilities

• Own the employee experience end to end, from the first screening call to the last day.
• Run the operational machinery behind a global team: payroll, benefits, offices, travel.
• Be the person leadership turns to for the document, the number, or the answer (board deck, investor request, or contract clause).
• Support COO/CFO on legal, finance, and compliance; keep records in order and coordinate with outside counsel, insurers, and auditors.
• Prepare and run recurring leadership, all-hands, and board rhythms: inputs, materials, and scheduling.
