Job summary

Cook Inc - Bloomington is seeking a Manager, Payroll Operations to lead the Payroll Shared Services team in Bloomington, IN. You will own payroll data integrity, drive automation, and partner with HR, HRIS, Benefits and Finance to expand global payroll capabilities.

The role requires 10+ years in payroll, strong HCM/payroll platform experience and CPP/IPASS considerations. You will mentor staff and build a roadmap for payroll initiatives while ensuring compliance and timely processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field is required.
• 10+ years of relevant payroll experience, ideally in progressive payroll roles.
• Hands-on expertise with an HCM/payroll platform is strongly preferred.
• Continued certification in Payroll (region specific) such as CPP or IPASS is preferred.
• Experience in global payroll processing and supervisory/management responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and data concepts to improve payroll processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day payroll operations for the Payroll Shared Services team, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Act as SME for payroll platform configuration, troubleshooting and data integrity, with escalation for complex issues.
• Reconcile payroll activity to the general ledger and coordinate with Finance.
• Lead process improvements and automation, including AI adoption and Power BI usage.
• Support global payroll expansion and onboarding of international entities.
• Mentor and develop team, plan workload and succession, and maintain clear roadmaps and timelines.
• Collaborate with HRIS, Benefits, Finance and HR on payroll-impacting initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax laws across jurisdictions and maintain data governance.
