Job summary

Profound, based in San Francisco, is hiring a Payroll Manager to own multi-country payroll across US, UK, Singapore, and Argentina. You will partner with Finance, People, Legal, and Accounting to ensure accurate, on-time payroll while leveraging AI to automate routine tasks and protect sensitive data.

This on-site role requires deep expertise in payroll tax, compliance, and EOR/PEO collaboration, with opportunities to expand payroll operations into new countries and implement scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years of payroll experience including multi-country payroll.
• Hands-on experience running US payroll across multiple states and at least one other country.
• Experience with EOR/PEO coverage for countries without a local entity.
• Deep knowledge of payroll tax and compliance, including forms and filings.

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end payroll for US, UK, Singapore, and Argentina, including hires, terminations, changes, bonuses, commissions.
• Manage deductions, benefits, 401(k) remittances, and garnishments with benefits and retirement providers.
• Oversee contractor payments and worker classification with People and Legal.
• Respond to employee pay questions while protecting payroll data confidentiality.
• Maintain compliance with local tax, wage/hour, social security, pensions across jurisdictions.
• Lead expansion payroll for new countries from registrations to first-run readiness.
• Set AI-driven controls, reviews, and data privacy rules for payroll systems.
