Job summary

CFS is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Indianapolis, IN, to own and optimize multi-state payroll processes. You will ensure accurate, on-time payroll, maintain HRIS data, and uphold federal, state, and local compliance.

This role collaborates with HR, Accounting, and leadership to support employee experience and accurate tax reporting. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of payroll experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements.
• Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
• CPP certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain payroll records and employee data in HRIS/payroll systems.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Respond to employee payroll questions and provide exceptional support.
• Assist with year-end processes including W-2s, tax filings, and audits.
