Job summary

Atlas Search, a leading fintech firm in Manhattan, is seeking a senior payroll leader for a hybrid role (on-site 4 days a week). You will design and govern a global payroll operating model that supports US and international jurisdictions.

The position requires 10+ years of payroll experience and prior team leadership, with a strong focus on controls, automation, and year-end reporting. Base salary ranges from $175,000 to $215,000, with bonus eligibility discussed at offer.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the global payroll strategy, operating model, and governance framework.
• Establish payroll governance, internal controls, and risk management practices to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with Treasury on payroll funding, banking activities, and cash flow planning.
• Partner with Finance and Accounting to support payroll accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage year-end payroll reporting and filings across U.S. and international jurisdictions.
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex payroll matters.
• Drive payroll system enhancements, integrations, automation initiatives, and process improvements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global payroll team, promoting accountability, accuracy, and continuous process improvement.
