Job summary

PayPal seeks a strategic Head of Payment Operations for PayPal Bank (in formation) to lead end-to-end payment and settlement operations, deposit funding, and risk controls. The role partners with Treasury, Risk, and regulators to ensure safe, scalable processes across card acquiring, ACH, and lending operations.

The role demands 10+ years in payment operations and strong knowledge of card networks, NACHA rules, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline with 5+ years in senior management leading payment/ops teams.
• 10+ years progressive experience in payment operations, banking operations, or financial services within a regulated institution.
• Strong working knowledge of card network rules (Visa, Mastercard), NACHA operating rules, BSA/AML requirements, and Regulation E.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all payment and settlement operations for the Bank, including card acquiring settlement, ACH processing, merchant settlement, and deposit operations.
• Oversee loan disbursement processing, repayment posting, ACH debit execution and control of payment applications.
• Own first-line operational risk and control environment with documented procedures and escalation processes.
• Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations and network requirements; manage regulatory and audit interactions.
