Job summary

Mayo Clinic Florida is seeking an International Patient Coordinator to support international patients, coordinating care and resources to ensure an optimal experience. You will act as a liaison among patients, physicians and staff, handling appointments, accommodations and special needs with sensitivity to diverse cultures.

Fluency in English and the target language is required, with certification as a medical interpreter or a plan to obtain it within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in communication, customer service, or healthcare, or an Associate degree with six years of experience.
• Fluency in English and the target language.
• Nationally certified interpreter or obtain certification within 12 months from date of hire.
• Strong written and interpersonal skills, including listening, empathy, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates actively as a member of the patient care team to support international patients undergoing care at Mayo Clinic Florida.
• Provides Mayo Clinic international patients with assistance in accessing clinical and non-clinical resources, services, amenities, and information.
• Coordinate and scheduling of appointments (clinical and non-clinical), accommodations, special needs, etc.
• Interacts with referring groups and international patients to ensure service expectations are set and operations are synchronized.
• Interacts with Sponsoring Agents to obtain authorization of services and communicate patient status.
