Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Patent Prosecution Paralegal to support the patent prosecution team. The role is based on site in Midland, Michigan, or Lake Jackson, Texas, and involves handling domestic and international patent filings with attention to deadlines and accuracy.

You will work with attorneys, clients, foreign counsel, and vendors to manage prosecution activities, maintain records, and improve processes through technology and standardized workflows.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2 years of relevant paralegal/legal experience.
• Must be able to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
• Experience with patent prosecution processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file U.S. patent applications, international PCT applications, office action responses, information disclosure statements, notices, formal documents, and other prosecution submissions.
• Coordinate domestic and foreign patent prosecution activities and inventor-related filing processes.
• Monitor patent dockets and deadlines and coordinate with attorneys, clients, foreign counsel, vendors, and docketing teams.
• Review and report patent office correspondence and communicate with clients regarding deadlines and proceedings.
• Maintain accurate patent and document management records.
• Improve efficiency by developing policies, procedures, forms, or tools to automate patent processes.
• Contribute to special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
