Job summary

Dow Inc. seeks a Patent Prosecution Paralegal who will independently manage domestic and international patent prosecution assignments, coordinating with attorneys, clients, foreign associates, and docketing teams.

The role focuses on filings, deadlines, and documents to protect the company’s intellectual property. You will collaborate across teams, with guidance from legal professionals, and contribute to improved workflows, document management, and efficiency in a fast-paced, deadline-driven

Qualifications

• Associate degree OR 2 years of relevant work experience such as paralegal, legal professional, intellectual property, docketing, or comparable deadline-driven experience.
• U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorship available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file U.S. patent applications, international PCT applications, office action responses, information disclosure statements, notices, formal documents, and other prosecution-related submissions with USPTO, WIPO, and foreign jurisdictions.
• Coordinate domestic and foreign patent prosecution activities, including filing instructions and foreign associate communications.
• Monitor patent dockets and deadlines and coordinate with attorneys, clients, foreign counsel, vendors, and internal docketing teams.
• Review patent office communications and communicate with clients regarding deadlines, instructions, signatures, annuity and maintenance matters, and other prosecution activities.
• Maintain accurate patent and document management records and contribute to process improvements through policies, tools, and best practices.
