Job summary

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, DO) with relevant therapeutic specialty experience highly preferred. Residency/fellowship desirable.
• Oncology area clinical experience in academic/hospital or Medical Affairs in pharma.
• Typically 5 years of medical affairs experience; 2 years oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Proven leadership in a cross-functional global team; strong external interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops area therapeutic strategy and insights for International TA Medical Affairs.
• Consults affiliates on affiliate therapeutic strategy and Area Medical Affairs strategy.
• Participates in cross-functional teams; provides strategic medical input for product strategies.
• Contributes to area research, trial execution and communication.
• Provides scientific consultation to affiliates on research evaluation methods.
• Supports priority clinical development trials with pipeline MSLs and TA teams.
• Informs IIS strategy for early assets; may act as Docent for IISs.
• Provides training on therapeutic topics to Area and Affiliate peers.
• Oversees external expert engagement; may represent AbbVie at meetings.
• May serve as scientific team representative for regulatory discussions.
