Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an Associate Director for Global Oncology Insights and Engagement to lead data-driven insights and strategic analytics for oncology launches.

The role partners with Global Oncology Marketing to inform executive decisions and drive commercial rigor across pipeline assets. The incumbent will quarterback end-to-end delivery of insights, analytics, and IT capabilities, collaborating with market research, forecasting, data science, and IT teams to deliver integrated,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data-related or health sciences field.
• 5+ years in marketing, data insights and analytics in pharma/healthcare.
• Experience mining claims/EMR data to produce actionable business insights.
• Strategic thinking with ability to synthesize primary/secondary data.
• Self-motivated, proactive mindset with learning agility.
• Story-telling and executive presence with senior leaders.
• Experience in matrixed organizations and stakeholder management.
• Strong business acumen with understanding of commercial strategies.
• Experience applying AI/automation to analytics.
• Hands-on experience with healthcare data (EMR/Claims).

Responsibilities

• Act as a key contact for Global Asset Marketing teams and act as strategic thought-partner.
• Translate needs into structured analytical plans and actionable insights.
• Communicate advanced analytics effectively to stakeholders.
• Develop commercial insight generation strategy and leverage AI to boost efficiency.
• Analyze data from epidemiology, claims/EMR and other sources to inform commercial questions.
• Ensure analytical rigor and transparent methodologies.
• Integrate insights across primary/secondary data sources.
• Tell clear data stories that translate analytics into business decisions.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of IT capabilities and insights across teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across marketing, forecasting, data science, and IT.
• Align cross-functional teams on scope, timelines, outputs.
• Stay current with analytical methodologies and AI applications.
• Contribute to innovative experiments and new analytics capabilities.
• Embed next-gen analytics into pipeline and launch strategy.
• Lead and mentor Specialists and Senior Specialists (on/offshore).
• Cultivate a culture focused on impactful work and continuous learning.
• Lead cross-functional insights teams across DHH and other org parts.
