Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director of Global Oncology Communications to shape external messaging for high-profile oncology assets. You will lead integrated communications, manage data-driven storylines and coordinate with regions worldwide under a fast-paced, high-visibility framework.

Based in the United States with hybrid work, you will drive editorial strategy, engage with media and thought leaders, and oversee busy communications programs across the oncology portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or life sciences.
• Minimum five years’ experience in communications or public relations at a global company.
• Product communications experience with data and regulatory milestones desirable.
• Deep understanding of biopharma industry, media landscape and business acumen.
• Strong executive presence and ability to work under tight deadlines with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated communications for oncology products and pipeline assets.
• Drive editorial strategy to raise external awareness and measure impact with key audiences.
• Identify storylines and opportunities with media and external stakeholders.
• Prepare leaders for media engagement and external speaking opportunities.
• Advise regions globally on franchise and product communications issues.
• Manage materials through medical/legal review, coordinating with review boards.
• Collaborate with public relations agencies and manage related budgets.
