Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. seeks a Network Infrastructure Engineer to design and deploy secure server clusters, diagnose hardware and network issues, and coordinate with field technicians and partners to keep our global platform running.

In this role you will travel up to 60% domestically within the U.S., implement end-to-end infrastructure solutions, and ensure adherence to SLA targets while maintaining high uptime across datacenters.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with Datacenter operations, network technologies, security concepts, Unix/Linux internals.
• Willing to travel up to 60% domestically within the U.S. and pass a USG Tier 3 background check.

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure the reliability, scalability and usability of Akamai's products.
• Travel regularly to datacenters to install and maintain hardware assets.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and monitor network connectivity issues at Layers 1–3.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on deployment projects and maintenance.
• Work with field technicians, ISPs, Akamai partners, and third-party vendors for installs and fulfillment.
• Monitor, triage, and resolve maintenance tickets within SLA targets.
• Maintain high SLA targets and robust system uptime and performance.
• Lift at least 50 pounds of equipment.
