Job summary

Syniverse is seeking a Network Director to lead strategic direction, architecture, and operations of the internal and customer-facing network backbone. You will drive security, availability, and performance while guiding a team of managers, architects, and engineers.

You will collaborate with senior leadership to plan for growth, enforce standards, and optimize costs through disciplined runbooks and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years in network engineering, with at least 3–5 years in people management or senior leadership roles.
• Certification in CCIE/CCNA/JNCIA/JNCIE/JNCIP/JNCIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute network strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to assess network needs and plan for future growth.
• Establish, document, and enforce network engineering standards, design principles, and change management practices.
• Champion operational discipline through runbooks, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement cycles.
• Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the Syniverse network.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of network services.
• Analyze network usage and implement optimization techniques to maximize resource efficiency.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce expenses.
• Lead and mentor a team of Network Managers, engineers and architects, fostering a culture of innovation.
• Set performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations.
• Manage relationships with Network vendors and OEM and technology partners to ensure quality and cost-efficiency.
• Negotiate contracts and service level agreements aligned to our network services
• Develop and manage the network budget, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
• Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with network infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with industry network standards and regulations.
• Stay updated on emerging network technologies and trends.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance operations.
