Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Legal Director to support its global M&A activities from Milwaukee, WI. You will advise senior leadership and the Strategy and Acquisition Office on mergers, divestitures, JVs and equity investments, influencing deal strategy and risk management.

The role requires a law degree, US bar admission, 10+ years of experience, and strong cross-border M&A expertise; in-house experience with a large multinational is preferred; antitrust knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Law degree and US state bar admission.
• 10+ years of legal experience with M&A transactions.
• Cross-border M&A experience.
• In-house experience with a large multinational.
• Knowledge of antitrust and competition law.
• Venture capital experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple, complex M&A transactions in a fast-paced environment.
• Advise senior leadership on deal structure and risk assessment.
• Draft and review transaction documents with external counsel.
• Lead negotiations on cross-border deals across jurisdictions.
• Translate contract terms into business risk and recommendations.
• Manage external legal expenses and report deal status.
