Job summary

FPC Franchise in Devens, MA is seeking a Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager to own end-to-end logistics and compliance, overseeing inbound/outbound freight, customs, and ITAR/EAR compliance.

You will lead a small team, drive cost-effective carrier contracts, develop a tariff impact model, and ensure safe handling of hazardous materials such as titanium powder, while building scale across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or a related field is preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive logistics and/or trade compliance experience, including at least five years in a senior or director-level role with direct reports.
• Demonstrated experience building or leading a logistics function with significant freight-spend responsibility; experience managing $50 million or more is preferred.
• Deep expertise in U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR, customs compliance, and international trade requirements.
• Proven track record of managing TMS implementations, carrier contract negotiations, and third-party logistics performance programs.
• Experience with hazardous materials logistics, including DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build, develop, and retain a high-performing team.
• Strong financial acumen, including freight cost modeling, tariff impact analysis, and budget ownership.
• Outstanding communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to operate as a peer to senior business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously develop the company’s global logistics strategy, including carrier relationships, inbound freight programs, outbound customer shipments, and third-party logistics and warehousing partnerships.
• Lead all freight contract negotiations—including parcel, LTL, FTL, air freight, and ocean freight—to deliver competitive rates, capacity assurance, and strong service-level performance.
• Own the full trade compliance program, including HS/HTS classification, country-of-origin determination, ITAR and EAR compliance, USTR filings, denied-party screening, and duty drawback opportunities.
• Manage customs brokerage relationships and ensure all import and export declarations are accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable U.S. and international regulations.
• Develop and maintain the tariff impact model; partner with Finance and Procurement to quantify and mitigate tariff exposure across active and pipeline spend categories.
• Oversee all hazardous materials logistics, including titanium powder handling, packaging compliance, and carrier certifications, with a focus on maintaining zero regulatory incidents.
• Manage demurrage, detention, and carrier performance claims; maintain KPI dashboards for on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, and claim resolution.
• Implement and manage a Transportation Management System or equivalent toolset to improve visibility, optimization, and reporting across the logistics network.
• Build, lead, and develop the Logistics & Trade Compliance team, initially consisting of a Trade Compliance Specialist and an Import/Export Coordinator, with a clear plan for future growth.
• Develop and deliver trade compliance training, standard operating procedures, and audit-readiness programs across Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering.
• Serve as the company’s subject matter expert and escalation point for all trade and logistics regulatory matters, including ITAR classification, export license applications, and customs audits.
