Global Trade Manager
Location: Pompano Beach, FL - ON SITE (Relocation Offered)
Salary: $100,000/Year + Bonus and Benefitts
Reports to: VP of Operations
We are seeking a Global Trade Manager to oversee international trade compliance, import/export operations, and transportation management for our aerospace division. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations while driving efficient global logistics operations.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on trade professional with deep expertise in EAR, ITAR, U.S. Customs regulations, and international transportation practices. You will serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and a key liaison with customs authorities, freight providers, and regulatory agencies.
What You'll Do
Global Trade Compliance
- Lead all import and export compliance activities across the aerospace division.
- Ensure compliance with EAR, ITAR, U.S. Customs, and other applicable regulations.
- Manage import/export operations, including entry filings, broker coordination, licensing, and regulatory submissions.
- Conduct compliance reviews, end-user screenings, and risk assessments.
- Support duty drawback programs, post-summary corrections, valuation reconciliations, and protests.
- Resolve complex trade compliance issues and regulatory exceptions.
- Partner with regulatory agencies including U.S. Customs, BIS, DDTC, and other government entities.
- Support internal and external audits, investigations, and compliance reviews.
- Identify compliance risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Drive trade automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and deliver import/export compliance training programs.
Transportation & Logistics Management
- Oversee inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments.
- Ensure compliance with transportation and dangerous goods regulations.
- Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers.
- Negotiate freight agreements and optimize transportation costs.
- Monitor shipment activity and resolve escalated logistics issues.
- Lead claims management related to lost, delayed, or damaged shipments.
- Troubleshoot shipping, account, and system-related issues.
- Analyze freight performance and prepare monthly reporting.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 8+ years of experience in import/export compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of EAR, ITAR, and U.S. Customs regulations.
- Experience managing international trade compliance programs and logistics operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong project management and continuous improvement experience.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification.
- Experience in the aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with trade management systems such as DECCS, SNAP-R, and ACE.
- Knowledge of global trade compliance frameworks and international customs regulations.
