Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Litigation to manage a global disputes portfolio for a leading tech and information solutions company. You will oversee commercial litigation, IP enforcement, and complex class actions across jurisdictions.

You will join the GCO Litigation Practice Group, work with business leaders and outside counsel, and leverage AI tools and cutting-edge legal tech to drive efficiency and strategic outcomes.

Qualifications

• J.D. and bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• 5–10+ years of post-qualification experience managing commercial litigation or arbitration.
• Experience with emerging legal technologies, including AI and eDiscovery tools.
• Sound judgment and ability to provide timely, practical advice and set strategy.
• Strong written and oral communication and cross-jurisdictional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial disputes and litigation across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead copyright and other intellectual property enforcement and defense.
• Direct class action defense, including antitrust and privacy claims.
• Develop and oversee litigation strategy aligned with business objectives, including budgeting and risk analysis.
• Select, instruct, and oversee outside counsel globally.
• Oversee disclosure and records management using eDiscovery and legal tech.
• Respond to subpoenas, regulatory requests, and other third-party demands for information.
• Act consistently with Thomson Reuters Trust Principles.
