Job summary

The World Bank Legal Internship Program offers law students hands-on experience within the World Bank Legal Vice Presidency (LEG VPU). Interns will contribute to legal research, drafting memoranda, and supporting advisory services across the Bank’s global operations.

The program runs for 10–12 weeks at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, D.C., with opportunities to engage in high-profile events and conferences.

Qualifications

• Strong research and writing skills.
• Excellent command of English.
• A second language is preferred (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
• Currently enrolled in a law program (LLB/JD/LLM/SJD/PhD or equivalent).
• Citizenship of any IBRD member state.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Legal Vice Presidency on legal matters related to the Bank’s global operations, policy development, and research.
• Assist in drafting legal memoranda and research reports.
• Participate in international law projects and gain exposure to legal aspects of global development.
• Support the preparation and organization of legal events, including conferences and workshops.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of legal experts to gain insights into the World Bank’s role in global legal and economic development.
