Job summary

Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) seeks a graduate student for the Winter Internship Program in its Corporate Legal Affairs team in Washington, DC. The position offers a competitive paid internship through January 16 to March 15, 2027, with on-the-job learning and exposure to loan and technical cooperation agreements.

Ideal candidates are actively pursuing a master’s or PhD in Law or related fields, fluent in English, with knowledge of another Bank language preferred.

Qualifications

• Active graduate student pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in Law, Public Policy, Public Administration, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field at an accredited university.
• Fluency in English; working knowledge of another Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is a plus.
• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills; familiarity with contracts and administrative law desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda.
• Support attorneys in providing legal advice on institutional, financial, and operational matters.
• Draft, review, and edit project documentation, including loan and technical cooperation agreements.
• Coordinate with outside law firms and review their legal advice.
