Job summary

Corus International is seeking a Director, Technical Services, Laboratory to provide strategic leadership for laboratory systems, diagnostics, and surveillance under the MOMENTUM project. The role is based in Washington, DC, with in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and a hybrid work arrangement.

The position requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least eight years of experience in national laboratory systems or public health laboratory services, with preference for MD/PhD

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in medical laboratory sciences or related field required.
• Eight years of progressively responsible experience in national laboratory systems or public health laboratory services.
• Experience in fragile, conflict-affected, or emergency settings preferred.
• Experience with USG-funded programs and international technical forums.
• Fluent in English; French an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for laboratory functions supporting multiple diseases and outbreak-prone pathogens.
• Strengthen national and provincial laboratory networks and QA/QMS improvements.
• Develop capacity-building plans and deliver training for Ministry of Health staff and laboratory personnel.
• Support surveillance and outbreak response, including SOPs and manuals for laboratory confirmation and surveillance.
• Collaborate with ministries, donors, and partners to strengthen laboratory systems.
