Job summary

Corus International is seeking a Director, Technical Services, Laboratory to provide strategic and technical leadership to strengthen laboratory systems and diagnostic services supporting infectious disease prevention, detection, surveillance, and response under the MIHR project, primarily in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and other African countries.

This hybrid position will be based at headquarters in Washington, DC with in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 8+ years in public health lab systems or infectious disease programs.
• MD/PhD or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with USG-funded programs and international settings.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Fluent in English; French a plus.
• Strong writing, reporting, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for laboratory functions.
• Develop annual workplans to strengthen laboratory systems.
• Advise on biosafety, biosecurity, and IPC practices.
• Strengthen laboratory networks and QA/QMS.
• Support outbreak preparedness and surveillance activities.
