Job summary

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP seeks an IP Patent Prosecution Specialist to support patent prosecution activities and prepare/FILE documents for international and foreign national patent applications. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Patent Support Services and requires flexibility with hybrid in-office/remote work in California and other West Coast offices.

• Bachelor’s degree; 3–5 years patent prosecution experience.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize and balance multiple projects.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication; high attention to detail.
• Proficiency with CPI Patent, MS Office, WorkSite, Adobe Acrobat, Legal MacPac, Outlook, Office Communicator, and iManage.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and files documents with the USPTO (New Patent Applications, IDS, Preliminary Amendments, formalities).
• Prepares client reporting letters and correspondence regarding formalities, Official Actions, Notices of Allowance, Letters Patent.
• Files documents related to international and foreign patent applications with WIPO and foreign offices.
• Analyzes PTO documents for accuracy (filing receipts, assignments, certificates, etc.).
• Prepares patent prosecution documents: instructions, patent applications, correspondence, reports, proofreading, and distribution.
