Job summary

Gensler in Denver, CO is seeking an Intercompany Accountant to partner with the Corporate General Ledger Finance and Global Accounting teams. You will analyze and post intercompany transactions across multiple currencies and support month-end close.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting and 5+ years of accounting experience, with preference for intercompany work. This on-site role offers a base salary of $80k-$90k plus bonuses and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience (prior Intercompany Accounting preferred)
• Self-starter and able to work independently
• Ability to make difficult decisions, recommend corrective action and implement them globally
• Intermediate to advanced Excel user
• Ability to leverage emerging technologies to identify and recommend improvements and efficiencies within established protocols.
• Working understanding of US GAAP and good internal control
• Ability to discuss accounting transactions and how they affect the financial statements
• Experience in A/E/C, professional services industry, or public accounting is desirable
• Experience with Intercompany processing, Blackline Reconciliation Software or DelTek VantagePoint is desirable
• Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment, and produce accurate and timely deliverables
• Communicate and interact effectively with individuals at all levels internally as well as outside of the firm in various countries and cultures
• A team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships
• Results driven and detail oriented

Responsibilities

• Apply proper accounting concepts to review, prepare and post journal entries into the accounting system for our multiple offices in multiple currencies
• Assist with month end close, including journal entries and report preparation
• Generate, analyze, and summarize large sets of data for reporting purposes on an as needed basis
• Analyze Intercompany transactions and select invoices for settlement based upon established Treasury policies.
• Prepare Intercompany Settlement Packets ensuring that the appropriate Access and VantagePoint invoices are linked, withholding tax certificates and wire confirmations have been attached.
• Process withholding tax transactions and Accounts Payable transactions related to Intercompany cash settlement.
• Serve as a liaison between Treasury and Intercompany providing invoice details for settlement, opining on readiness of detail and provide the last approval for Intercompany cash transfers around the globe.
• Push the Intercompany Billing Runs in VantagePoint, validating all suspense items have been cleared, confirm no incomplete transactions are outstanding in VantagePoint, run foreign currency gains, losses, and revaluations, create the Due to/from reporting for proof of post run Intercompany balancing.
• Research out of balance Intercompany variances as needed.
• Generate twice monthly Intercompany reporting packages to include the Gensler Intercompany Report, Access Summary invoices for tax and settlement purposes, Intercompany Balancing reporting with both Accounts Receivable and Accounting Payable subledger data which must balance to the general ledger, run and analyze the Extended AR Aging reports and completing the 4 Way Validations report.
• Work with internal clients to assure compliance with internal accounting policies
• Communicate effectively with finance staff throughout the firm in a global support capacity
• Cross-train on a variety of tasks to act as backup to other members of the finance team
• Help innovate and transform current processes for improved efficiency ensuring accurate and timely completion
• Carry out other duties as assigned
