Job summary

Sompo seeks an Information Security Officer to lead and modernize our global security program, serving 7,000+ users, developers, and IT staff across more than 75 locations. You will drive risk-based controls, incident response, and threat-informed decisions to protect critical assets.

The role requires extensive leadership experience and collaboration with executives, regulators, and cross-functional teams. Location options include NY metro, Morristown, and other US offices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years in technical, security, and risk roles.
• At least 7 years in senior security management.
• Experience with security controls across Windows, cloud, and SaaS environments.
• Ability to translate operational metrics into KPIs and risk quantifiers.
• Strong collaboration with regulators, leadership, and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modernize security controls across all systems with documented designs.
• Detect, report, and escalate vulnerabilities to support teams.
• Operate an effective security alerting function aligned to threat landscape.
• Maintain an incident response procedure capable of handling incidents of any scale.
• Engage in systems development lifecycle to align with security program.
• Establish a communications program to inform users about threats and policy changes.
