Job summary

Sompo is seeking an Information Security Officer to lead and continuously modernize our global information security program. You will manage security across Windows, cloud, and SaaS environments, with a focus on risk management, metrics, and stakeholder communications.

The role involves overseeing a large user base and a distributed IT/dev team. The position requires extensive leadership experience and certifications, with oversight spanning multiple locations in the US.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in technical, security, and risk management roles.
• 7+ years in a senior information security management role.
• Experience with security controls across Windows, cloud, and SaaS environments.
• Ability to translate operational metrics into KPIs and risk quantifiers.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications with diverse audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an effective set of technical security controls with documented designs and real-time instrumentation.
• Detect, report, and escalate vulnerabilities with org-wide real-time reporting.
• Operate an instrumented security alerting function and incident response procedures.
• Participate in the systems development lifecycle to align with the information security program.
• Establish a communications program to inform users about threats, policy changes, and security recommendations.
