Job summary

Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. seeks an Import Coordinator in Houston to support daily import operations, coordinate with customers and overseas offices, and ensure compliance with CBP and company policies.

The role handles demurrage, charges, and data quality while collaborating across terminals, brokers, and internal teams to resolve issues. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in ocean transport or related fields, strong Excel skills, and a customer‑focused approach.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in ocean transportation or import operations.
• Knowledge of ocean import procedures, terminology, and CBP rules.
• Experience with terminals, brokers, and other transport providers.
• Strong attention to detail and multi‑shipment management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily import operations and troubleshooting with internal teams.
• Coordinate cargo release, movement, and shipment exceptions with customers and partners.
• Monitor demurrage, detention, and other charge related issues and resolve them.
• Ensure accurate data entry and support process improvements.
• Follow regulatory requirements and company policies; support special projects.
