Job summary

Maxxima is seeking an Import Coordinator in Hauppauge, NY to manage international shipment tracking, customs documentation, and compliance. The role involves coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and international suppliers to ensure timely deliveries of LED lighting and electrical products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in import operations, logistics, or supply chain.
• Working knowledge of international trade regulations and customs compliance; tariff/duty familiarity is a plus.
• Experience preparing and reviewing customs, import, and shipping documentation.
• Experience with DHL, UPS, and other logistics providers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and adaptability.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; detail-oriented and analytical.

Responsibilities

• Track international shipments and manage import transaction records.
• Prepare HS7/DOT forms and submit customs documentation to forwarders; reconcile reports for management.
• Coordinate ocean/air freight and assist with customs clearance issues and delays.
• Provide regulatory support and assist with landed cost estimates; maintain system updates (MAS).
• Support new product models and import procedures for growing product lines.
• Collaborate with warehouse, customer service, and marketing to provide shipment status and updates.
