Job summary

Staffmark Group is seeking an Import Coordinator in Torrance, CA, to support international import operations. The role requires import experience and offers opportunities to grow toward an Entry Writer role, with Japanese language skills a plus.

You will review documents, coordinate with global partners, process documentation, track shipments, and provide customer service while assisting with warehouse tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year import operation or customer service experience.
• Entry writing experience is a strong plus.
• Motivated to learn import operations and regulations.
• Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to track shipments.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming documents and confirm shipping details against documents.
• Interface with global logistics partners to coordinate international air/ocean import operations.
• Process all related import documentation complying with regulations in a timely and efficient manner.
• Monitor shipments and communicate with clients and vendors accordingly about status and progress.
• Coordinate logistics process by communicating between customers, carriers, vendors, overseas offices, and agents regarding shipments.
• Provide timely and effective customer service to clients and elevate any issues to supervisor.
• Support occasional warehouse-related tasks, including basic inventory management and light packing/shipping assistance.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.
