Job summary

ADM is seeking a Human Rights Specialist in Chicago, IL to lead the implementation of the company’s human rights and responsible sourcing commitments across global operations and supply chains. You will own the Human Rights Policy and drive improvements through due diligence, risk assessments and audits while collaborating with Procurement, Sustainability, Legal and Compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Rights, International Development, Business, Law, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in human rights, responsible sourcing, ESG, sustainability, or supply chain compliance.
• Experience managing supplier social audits, particularly SMETA.
• Strong knowledge of UN Guiding Principles, OECD Due Diligence Guidance and ILO Core Conventions.
• Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to travel 15-20% in North America and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the company’s human rights and responsible sourcing commitments.
• Own and maintain the Human Rights Policy and align with standards and legislation.
• Develop internal action plans and monitor progress against objectives.
• Coordinate supplier due diligence, risk assessments and audits (SMETA and others).
• Review audit findings and oversee remediation through to closure.
• Deliver internal training on human rights, modern slavery and supplier expectations.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Sustainability, Legal and Compliance across functions.
• Engage NGOs and multi-stakeholder initiatives to strengthen the program.
