Job summary

Surplus Solutions is seeking a Human Resources Manager to own the full people function across our US and international entities, currently 100-200 employees, with growth anticipated. This hands-on role requires autonomy and a builder mindset across finance, operations, commercial and leadership.

You will manage US payroll and international payroll via local bureaus, oversee benefits and compensation, and run the HRIS to scale the function.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive HR experience including ownership of payroll, benefits, and compensation administration.
• Experience running HR as a generalist across the full employee lifecycle.
• Comfort operating autonomously and building processes from scratch.
• Multi-state US employment compliance experience.
• Strong systems and data orientation (HRIS, reporting, payroll platforms).

Responsibilities

• Own US payroll provider coordination and international payroll through local bureaus in each country.
• Own the HRIS: data integrity, reporting, and scalable systems.
• Design and run onboarding for new hires, including acquisitions.
• Lead performance review cycles, employee relations, and coaching managers.
• Coordinate cross-border HR/Payroll with local partners; support M&A integration across entities.
