Job summary

ViiV Healthcare, a global HIV-focused company, is seeking a Senior Director to lead a global Early Development Team and drive the strategy from candidate selection through early proof of concept. This role supports the progression of HIV programs with cross-functional leadership across regions and functions.

Qualifications

• Physician (MD or DO), PhD, or PharmD with clinical fellowship OR research experience in Infectious Diseases
• 5+ years of drug development experience
• Experience in establishing and executing a drug development strategy
• Experience in presenting scientific data to internal key stakeholders and external audiences

Responsibilities

• Leads the multi-functional global Early Development Team (EDT) responsible for delivery of an asset to Phase 2b
• Direct medicine development strategy and plans from Candidate Selection through Proof of Concept/Commit to Medicine Development
• Contributes to the development of the regional and global strategy for products
• Interface with Senior Management and external stakeholders to articulate and drive the Medicine Development Strategy
• Collaborate with Commercial to ensure alignment on strategy and project delivery timelines
• Manage prioritisation of asset’s development options to effectively manage the budget
• Utilize organizational channels to facilitate project progression and issue resolution
• Create and maintain a clear and detailed medicine development strategy as focal point for early development
• Lead the EDT to create an integrated asset development plan on a global level
• Create and maintain the overall project budget for the asset
• Represent the EDT at governance boards within ViiV and at GSK as appropriate
• Influence integrated multi-disciplinary project activities across technical, operational and strategic levels
