Job summary

Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a Senior Director of Data & Analytics to lead the global data and analytics organization, owning the enterprise data strategy and multi-year vision for the data estate. You will steer architecture, governance, analytics, data science, and ML engineering as a connected function, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient data platforms.

Responsibilities include setting standards, overseeing data products, and guiding vendor decisions while collaborating

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, analytics, data science, or related tech disciplines including enterprise cloud solutions.
• 5+ years of senior leadership managing multidisciplinary data/engineering teams.
• Strong expertise in enterprise data architecture, lakehouse platforms, data integration, modeling, and data warehousing.
• Deep experience with Databricks, Azure, SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Experience with ML, MLOps, generative AI, and AI governance.
• Proven track record translating analytics initiatives into measurable business value.
• Knowledge of data quality, governance, metadata, lineage, security, and compliance.
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional programs.
• Experience leading global teams across regions and time zones.
• Excellent executive communication and strategic thinking.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related quantitative discipline; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement enterprise data strategy, roadmap, operating model, and investment priorities.
• Oversee data architecture, engineering, governance, analytics, data science, ML engineering, and data platforms.
• Own Databricks and Azure lakehouse architecture including security and performance.
• Set standards for data integration, modeling, quality, governance, metadata, lineage, and access.
• Direct ML engineering and MLOps to move models from development to production.
• Enable analytics, AI, and self-service through trusted data products and semantic models.
• Lead build, buy, and partner decisions, vendor management, and platform optimization.
• Collaborate with business leaders to identify data/AI opportunities and translate into business value.
• Manage budgets, resources, risks, and executive reporting across the data org.
• Lead and develop a high-performing global team across regions and time zones.
