Position Summary:

Excel Sports Management is seeking an experienced and accomplished agency executive with significant integrated marketing and account management experience to fill the key role of Global Head of Accounts within the Brand Marketing division. The senior role will be responsible for the day to day oversight of the Account Management function of the fully integrated Brand Marketing division which is made up of Game Seven, a full-service creative agency as well as our Hospitality and Analytics teams. The position will be focused on the client experience and flawless delivery of marketing platforms across a full suite of services.

Responsibilities:

  • Full oversight of the Integrated Marketing function with the Brand Marketing group including Account Management & Partnership Marketing offerings.
  • Maintain, build and develop C-Level client relationships across a core of 25+ accounts across key functions including Hospitality, Analytics, Experiential, Content and Social, serving as the primary point of contact and lead connection for the agency broadly, ensuring client satisfaction, retention and growth.
  • Identify, lead and develop a full team of Integrated Marketing All-Stars that are working across the account management and partnership marketing functions, while setting elevated performance expectations.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a highly collaborative organization focused on delivering meaningful client outcomes and processes and procedures that drive organizational efficiency and productivity.
  • Overall evaluation of the Integrated Marketing function with an eye towards opportunities for growth and expansion of that service offering and future strategic investment.
  • Understanding and curiosity about the full marketing spectrum of opportunities and proficiency across the marketing and advertising industry.
  • Contribute overall to the strategic direction and growth of the agency including all other business units within Excel.
  • Further develop a clear point of differentiation, tone of voice and identity in the marketplace for the Excel Brand Marketing group that will drive forward all strategic and investment decisions.
  • Overall revenue and P&L responsibility including identification of cross-selling opportunities, overall profitability and agency performance metrics, organic growth and ambitious topline and bottom-line revenue growth.
  • Interact frequently with senior-level clients and all appropriate agency/property leadership to direct sponsorship programming initiatives.
  • Travel to client events as necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading an Account Management or Integrated Marketing function at a sports marketing or advertising agency.
  • 15+ years of direct experience in advertising or marketing with a specific focus on sponsorship or partnership marketing, along with brand marketing strategy and activation, including a minimum of 5+ years of agency experience required.
  • 10+ years of people management/team leadership experience, including quantitatively and qualitatively proven leadership of matrixed, highly functioning teams delivering flawless client services.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills including C-Level client meetings, new business opportunities and partnership negotiations that require innovative presentation skills and preparation.
  • Strong history of strategic thinking and problem-solving traits that extend beyond logical answers and showcase out-of-the-box thinking and presentation of alternative solutions.
  • Ability to work in a highly competitive environment and clearly articulate a point of differentiation across the marketplace and within a broad competitive set.
  • Interest, understanding and curiosity around the evolving marketing landscape, particularly the intersection of sports, entertainment and culture.
  • Experience developing and implementing sponsorship marketing strategies and activations on behalf of clients or companies.
  • Proven sports marketing and agency experience managing and growing day-to-day relationships with clients, agencies, and leading a team.
  • Industry knowledge, experience and insight that will benefit C-Level clients for crucial business decisions across the sports and entertainment landscape including all evolving and innovative investment and partnership opportunities available for brands today.

The pay range for this position is $350,000-$400,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.
